this is the best dog canteen on the market, i have 2, and looking to buy a 3rd, they keep going and going and going. 30 below and still fresh water. no ice at all

We purchased one of these buckets in 1986, while living in North Pole, Alaska. Not only did it survive our winters there including one year that went below -68, we are just now (2013) getting ready to replace it as the outside of the bucket has cracked (still appears to work but think it would be a good idea to replace, don’t you?) I highly doubt we paid $110 for our heated water bucket back then, but I figure if we get even half that amount of time out of our new one, it’s still a good deal!

I bought my first canine canteen approximately 25 years ago. It has always worked very well for my dogs in our moderate (max low -25 degrees) winter temps here in NW corner of WA state. It gets cold for long periods and we’ve never had a problem with the canteen keeping up until this year. It still heats, but not enough when the temps get down to zero, so we are replacing it.
I hope the new canteen is as rugged as the older version. I love the easy cleaning of the stainless steel interior bowl.

We have been using the canteen in our kennels here in Nebraska since they were first developed. If I remember correctly their first run of these canteens were made with a durable stainless steal liner. They made a run for a short time out of a galvanized steel that didn’t stand the test, but then returned to their original stainless steel which is second to none. We raise dogs and won’t use any other product because this one is more than reliable.
